Qualifications
This is a consulting level position in the technology organization where it is expected that the Consultant will have a base level of knowledge with wireless RF and/or core networks and technology but is able to grow significantly in a short period of time to expand expertise. Prior experience with 911 deployments and technology including working with PSAPs would be desirable but is not mandatory. What is mandatory is the ability to effectively provide project management to a technology deployment situation. This includes the ability to communicate proactively and efficiently with both the client organization and vendors to the client organization. The ability to create a work plan and then deliver against that work plan including anticipating trouble areas, raising visibility of risk areas, and providing recommendations for solution of problem situations.
Prior work in Wireless technology either at a wireless carrier, with another wireless consulting firm, or with one of the primary wireless technology vendors would be a significant benefit. Particularly, it is desired they understand and have large expertise with basic RF network elements such as cell sites, base radios, air interfaces, modulation, etc. or core network elements such as MSC, HLR, BSC, and data network components. Should have significant experience with at least one major wireless technology such as TDMA, CDMA, or GSM and would be beneficial to have experience with multiple technologies.
