TMNG and inCode Give Preview of Wireless Lab at CTIA

Joint Demonstration to Illustrate Flexibility for Carriers in Provisioning Next-Generation Services

Industry Analyst Confirms the Value of an Independent Wireless Technology Lab

Orlando, Florida - March 18, 2002 -- The Management Network Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TMNG), a leading provider of management consulting services to the global communications industry, today announced that at CTIA it will team with inCode Telecom Group, Inc., a leading wireless technology consulting services firm, to jointly demonstrate the full interoperability of wireless components from multiple technology vendors.

The demonstrations from TMNG and inCode give a first look at the groundbreaking integration work that is being performed at the companies' jointly developed wireless laboratory in La Jolla, California. The laboratory, formed in October 2001 and scheduled to officially open its doors on April 12, 2002, is the first independent facility to provide a vendor- and technology-neutral, real world testing ground for new next generation wireless technologies.

At CTIA, TMNG and inCode will conduct a series of demonstrations that illustrate the value of bringing multiple wireless networks and components together through the use of a neutral third party. The demonstrations will include the simulation of an ASL service as well as the simulation of an end-to-end movie ticket transaction, which will show how customers can conduct a wireless data transaction using hardware and software from multiple vendors.

In addition, the companies will be offering a live video tour of the wireless technology lab. Through a two-way, high speed data link to the lab in La Jolla, CTIA attendees will be able to view the facilities, meet the staff and ask questions in real time.

"Carriers fear not only interoperability issues but also the need to rely on a single vendor for deploying expensive and critical technology applications," explained Rich Nespola, President and CEO of The Management Network Group. "By showing how multiple vendors can come together in an open-architecture environment to provision real-world services and tie advanced wireless technology to sound business processes and software, we believe our two firms are helping define the path to greater innovation, increased profitability and, ultimately, a more compelling experience for consumers."

"inCode is proud of the phenomenal progress we have made with TMNG in bringing innovative vendors together, overcoming challenging interoperability issues and replicating a next-generation environment for wireless carriers," said John Donovan, CEO of inCode. "Together we have developed a very unique place where our advisory council, vendors, engineers and consultants can develop solutions that will drive better performance and higher profits for our clients."

According to Jane Zweig, Chief Executive Officer of telecom research firm The Shosteck Group, the need for such a laboratory is critical. "Given the current economic environment, large vendors must focus on core competencies as well as strategic innovations that position them competitively for the future. It is critical, from both a financial and competitive standpoint, that vendors have the opportunity to test their products in a neutral environment prior to showing them to prospective customers. This lab provides such an environment, and enables wireless companies to help ensure their next-generation products and services will succeed in this challenging marketplace."

The demonstrations will take place at booth #4552 throughout the duration of the conference.
